RESEARCH
Research plays an important role in policy creation. It adds to existing knowledge about a particular problem, highlights emerging issues, and offers solutions to identified problems. Our purpose is to utilize existing research on refugees and immigrants to shape policy advocacy efforts, educate the public, and generate dialogue about the personal experiences, context, and perception of New Americans. We achieve our purpose through four strategies:
Gathering data on how New Americans view and understand the effects of various systems on their success, influence, and prosperity.
Partnering with academic, public, and private entities to elevate the voices of New Americans.
Conducting community action research to contribute to social change, foster self-agency, support empowerment, and advocate for community-driven policy agendas and solutions.
Disseminating existing research to highlight needs in the New American community.
