Time to stop US sanctions on Afghanistan

In August of last year, the United States hastily withdrew from Afghanistan. Tens of thousands of Afghan allies who were evacuated struggle in the United States and Europe to start a new life. With the US sanctions, according to the World Food Program in Afghanistan, Afghans needing food aid roughly doubled to 20 million people, about half the population. About 6.6 million need immediate assistance to survive.

Sanctions cannot and should not be a foreign policy tool. After 20 years of the “War on Terror,” the Afghan people have already paid a high price for the 9/11 attack, with which they had no involvement.
